The Battle of the Field of the Cloth of Gold ended The Protector's War. The allies were prepering to fight the Portland Protective Association; Mike Havel decided to challenge Norman Arminger to single combat. Arminger accepted on the condition that the outcome would only apply to the dispute between the two men. Havel killed Arminger but was mortally wounded.
The barons of the PPA did not have the will to continue and Sandra Arminger negotiated a peace with the allies.
